Differentiated Instruction

We believe every student deserves teaching at their level. English and Social Studies classes are grouped by English proficiency level, while Math and Science classes are grouped by academic level. For example, a student may begin with Pre-Algebra in Grade 6 and advance to AP Calculus by Grade 11 or 12, following a sequence tailored to their pace. This flexibility ensures no student is left behind and no student is held back.

Graduation Requirements

To earn the Joy Academy Online diploma, students must complete 28 total credits:

Students must be enrolled full-time and complete their senior year with us.

Students who complete three consecutive years (Grades 10–12) and fulfill all graduation requirements will also earn the Rockford Christian School High School Diploma, an accredited U.S. high school credential recognized by universities worldwide.

GPA and Academic Recognition

Joy Academy Online uses a standard 4.0 GPA scale: A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B− = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, and so on. AP and Honor courses carry additional weight, rewarding students who challenge themselves. Strong academic performance is recognized each semester.

Our dedicated college counselors begin working with students in Grade 11, providing personalized guidance through every stage: standardized test planning (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT), university selection, application essays, recommendation letter strategy, and scholarship applications.
