Welcome Letter — Spring Semester 2026

Dear Parents,

The new semester has begun! It's wonderful to reconnect with all of you online, and I hope you and your children had a joyful and fulfilling winter break.

On Monday, the children shared highlights from their holidays — delicious meals, trips, fireworks, and red envelopes — full of excitement and joy. We also reflected on last semester's key lesson: "Hard work brings results, and only hard work brings results."

We are delighted that more than half of the students earned Honor Roll or High Honor Roll, especially in the upper grades — a testament to their hard work and dedication:

Improvements for This Semester

While our students made significant progress last semester, we noticed that many still have room to grow in spoken English, writing skills, and vocabulary acquisition. To support students' language development and academic growth, we are introducing three key initiatives:

• 🔹 One-on-one sessions with foreign teachers: Offering more opportunities for children to practice speaking, building both confidence and skill.
• 🔹 New Learning Center: A designated time block three times a week where students can ask teachers questions and practice in all subjects.
• 🔹 Quizlet vocabulary lists: Students complete a set of vocabulary each week — lower grades based on lesson content, upper grades aligned with TOEFL vocabulary. Those who need extra support will practice in the Learning Center.

We hope these measures will significantly enhance students' vocabulary, speaking and writing skills, and overall learning.

Family Engagement and Character Development

Adolescence is a crucial time for developing children's worldview, values, and life perspective. This semester, students will read Born Guilty, while parents read Positive Discipline. Through reading, sharing, and daily "micro-actions," we aim to foster both academic and character growth in children, while supporting parents in reflecting and growing alongside their children.

At Joy Academy Online, our goal is to nurture a generation of children with hearts of gratitude, reverence, service, and growth. Your active participation and support as parents are essential to this journey.

We encourage parents to:

• Spend time each day supporting your child in applying what they learn
• Share reflections and identify growth points together
• Provide opportunities for children to practice social skills, responsibility, self-discipline, and cooperation

Through this partnership between school and home, we aim to help children grow holistically — in academics, character, and thinking — while cultivating lifelong learning habits and values.
